We’re delighted to introduce our new curriculum-linked learning offer at Gainsborough’s House—designed to engage, inspire and ignite imaginations in students of all ages. Our refreshed schools programme provides a range of flexible visit options, including hands-on creative workshops and immersive house and gallery tours to curriculum-focused sessions that support in-depth learning across all Key Stages.

We invite schools, colleges and universities to visit Gainsborough’s House and interact with our permanent collections and temporary exhibitions.
Each visit is a chance for students to step into Gainsborough’s world, explore their local heritage, and respond creatively to the art and history they encounter. Our offer is led by our experienced Learning team and shaped by cross-curricular thinking, giving schools the opportunity to tailor their experience to suit classroom topics and learning goals.
At the heart of this programme are our inspiring educators, Fania Weatherby (right) and Jilly Roberts (left). Fania brings her expertise as a former History of Art teacher with a strong background in curriculum design, while Jilly offers a wealth of practical experience as an artist and educator. Together, they create thoughtful, dynamic sessions that blend creativity with meaningful engagement, ensuring every student leaves with a sense of connection, curiosity and inspiration. Learn more about the team here.

We warmly invite schools to book a visit and give their students a memorable day of creative learning at Gainsborough’s House. To support your planning, our downloadable School Teachers’ Pack includes all the information you need to make the most of your visit. If you’re seeking enrichment, hands-on activities, or curriculum support, why not get in touch?
We look forward to welcoming you and your class soon.
