Your Invitation to Connect, Create, and Volunteer
Sudbury, Suffolk – Gainsborough’s House is delighted to announce the re-launch of its popular Warm Welcome Coffee Club, designed to bring together our dedicated Volunteers and those interested in joining our vibrant Volunteering team. The initial launch was a result of a successful application to Babergh District Council Community Grants for the Living Well in Winter fund.
The Club will re-open its doors on Wednesday 25 September, 10:30am–12:30pm, providing a warm, friendly space for community members to connect, share, and explore Volunteering opportunities at our Museum and Galleries.
Building on the success of our initial series, which saw a significant increase in Volunteer sign-ups and participation, the Warm Welcome Coffee Club continues to be a cornerstone of our community engagement. This initiative offers our current volunteers a place to feel supported and valued while inviting new faces to discover the rewarding experience of Volunteering at Gainsborough’s House.
In addition to lively conversations, this re-launch introduces an exciting new feature: craft activities! For those who may feel daunted by the prospect of conversation alone, these hands-on activities offer a relaxed, creative way to break the ice. Whether you’re interested in trying your hand at a simple craft or just enjoying a cup of coffee with fellow community members, there’s something for everyone.
This Club is more than just a social gathering; it’s a celebration of community spirit. We’ve seen how these meetings can create a sense of belonging and purpose. By adding optional crafting, we hope to provide an even more inclusive environment that encourages participation and eases any anxieties about meeting new people.
