Instruments of Time and Truth

Gainsborough’s House is pleased to welcome the Instruments of Time and Truth, a world-class period ensemble based in Oxford for a special musical evening. Since its inception, the Ensemble has performed all over the country and has also been in demand in Europe. They have been described as ‘an absolutely superb band of instrumental soloists‘ by BBC Record Review.

From 6:00pm–6:45pm individual musicians will perform short pieces in the Historic House, in the David Pike Drawings Gallery, the Gainsborough Gallery and, within the Music and Early Gainsborough Rooms. From 6:45pm–7:15pm drinks will be served in the Landscape Studio, followed by a concert in the Gainsborough Gallery featuring Arias from Handel, Bach Harpsichord, and the Jackson Song for Elizabeth Linley.

Please join us for this unique evening celebrating music in the Historic House and new galleries dedicated to Thomas Gainsborough known for his passion for music, musicians and music-making.
