Antony Gormley, Maggi Hambling, John Hoyland, David Inshaw, Sarah Lucas, Julian Opie and William Pye are amongst over 100 British artists whose works will go under the hammer at our Contemporary & Post War British Art Auction.

See the sales catalogue and bid online here; the-saleroom.com/gainsborough.

Spear-headed by Maggi Hambling and Andrew Lambirth, and supported by Colchester-based Reeman Dansie auctioneers and Nethergate Wines, this prestigious event will raise funds towards Reviving an Artist’s Birthplace – our £8.5 million capital project to transform the museum and gallery into the National Centre for Thomas Gainsborough.

“Since galleries couldn’t exist without artists, it’s fitting that artists have responded so wholeheartedly to supporting a new National Centre for Thomas Gainsborough, one of England’s greatest.”

Maggi Hambling CBE, a Patron of Gainsborough’s House
