Carl Borges: Collagraphs

Collagraphs are wonderfully textured prints that are produced without the chemicals needed for etching. Instead, the plate is made by glueing textured materials to a cardboard base. The plate can then be linked in a variety of ways to produce textured monochrome or beautifully coloured prints. Learn how to transfer an image on acetate to an etching plate. With this flexible method, use drawings, collage and photographs, or make a starting point for traditional etching. Gainsborough’s House and Rural Coffee Caravan are working together to promote happy and healthy lives through a series of art workshop and coffee mornings offering support and advice for the elderly. The workshops are particularly aimed at people living in rural isolation who would like to spend a morning of creative activity in a warm and friendly environment.
