Gainsborough, Turner & Constable Breakfast Tour – 14 May 2026

May 14 @ 9:00 am – 11:00 am

Join us on Thomas Gainsborough’s birthday to discover the story behind our exhibition, Gainsborough, Turner & Constable: Inventing Landscape in celebration of Constable 250 in 2026.

Led by our Keeper of Art and Place, Emma Boyd, this special Breakfast Tour will introduce you to three of Britain’s greatest landscape painters. The exhibition features key works like Gainsborough’s idyllic scene, Landscape with Cattle, a Young Man Courting a Milkmaid (early 1770s), Turner’s large-scale watercolour, Abergavenny Bridge (1799) and Constable’s majestic ‘six-footer’ oil painting, The Leaping Horse (1825). Don’t miss your exclusive opportunity to discover the development of British landscape art as we know it today from the exhibition’s curator.

Please arrive for a 9am start for a guided tour of the exhibition, followed by hot drinks & croissants.
